Mobile health outreach initiative will visit neighbourhoods, parks, community centres, residential areas and senior citizen clubs to promote preventive healthcare
Hyderabad, September 16: In an effort to make preventive health screening more accessible at the community level, CARE Hospitals has launched ‘Swasth Rath’, a mobile healthcare outreach initiative that will travel across different parts of Hyderabad offering basic health screenings and health awareness.
The initiative was flagged off at CARE Hospitals, Malakpet, by Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi, MLC, AIMIM, in the presence of Murari, Inspector of Police, Chadarghat; Praveen Kumar Edla, Hospital Chief Operating Officer, CARE Hospitals, Malakpet; Dr Sridhar, MOD; senior doctors and hospital team members.
The specially equipped Swasth Rath will reach people through neighbourhoods, residential areas, community centres, public parks, senior citizen clubs and other community locations. Besides providing basic health screenings, the initiative will focus on encouraging people to undergo regular health check-ups and seek timely medical advice rather than waiting for symptoms to become serious.
Speaking at the launch, Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi said bringing healthcare services closer to communities can encourage more people to prioritise their health.
“The closer healthcare services are to people, the greater the benefit to the community. Swasth Rath is a good initiative that brings basic health screenings directly to neighbourhoods and community spaces. Timely health check-ups can help identify many health concerns at an early stage,” he said, encouraging people to make use of the initiative.
Murari, Inspector of Police, Chadarghat, said community-based health programmes can play an important role in improving awareness about preventive healthcare and reaching people where they live.
Highlighting the importance of early health checks, Praveen Kumar Edla said, “Along with providing quality medical care, it is equally important to create greater awareness about preventive healthcare. Through Swasth Rath, we are taking basic health screenings closer to where people live. Our aim is to encourage people to undergo timely health check-ups rather than waiting until a health problem becomes serious.”
People reached through the Swasth Rath programme will also be offered complimentary memberships to CARE Sangham, the hospital’s family-focused community connect initiative, and Pranaam, its engagement platform for senior citizens.
Through the outreach programme, CARE Hospitals aims to strengthen its community health initiatives while making basic screenings and preventive health information more accessible across Hyderabad.
